Tip-toe Through the Tulips

When Annie sent me an email saying she wanted to get some Spring photos done of Skyla, little did I know that we would be taking a trip to Southland to do them!
Originally we thought how nice it would be to do the photos surrounded by the beautiful blossom trees in Central Otago but with a mixture of bad weather, sickness and myself being out of town for a week - the blossom had all disappeared by the time we were both available.

One day, Annie saw an article in the newspaper about Triflor Tulip Farm having an open day. She told me she was taking Skyla on a road trip to see them and to imagine the photos we could get there. I had never even heard of the place until then, so after doing a little research and finding some photos I was instantly in love!
On the afternoon of the open day I went there to meet Annie, Dan and Skyla. It was even better in real life - the colours were absolutely amazing! A little piece of paradise hidden away in a small town that I usually drive through without even a thought of stopping. It made the 2.5 hour drive each way definitely worth it!
